Where is XY stage control for Prior ProScanIII?

Hi,

I’m trying to use python-microscope to control a Prior ProScanIII controller for an XY stage.

In #156 , I saw people say that Prior can control XY stages.
But when I read the current code in microscope/controllers/prior.py, I can only find support for filter wheels, not for any stage.

In the file:

ProScanIII only creates filter wheel devices

There is no class that inherits from microscope.abc.Stage

I cannot find move_to, get_position, or any XY axis control

So I’m confused:

Does python-microscope currently support XY stage control via Prior ProScanIII?

If yes, where is the stage code? Which file or version?

If not, are the older issue comments outdated?

Hi. It seems that the issue you pointed to was closed when it shouldn't have. The bit to look at is:

I have a 156-prior-controller-stage branch that is supposed to implement this from back in February. There were some minor things missing which I now filled in but this was all from 5 months ago so I may be misremembering some bits. With the current situation I won't be able to go and test it with hardware. I'm leaning towards merging this anyway. Opinions?

That message is from July 2020 so the February I mention in that message is just before the COVID lockdown. That's also what I mean with "the current situation".

I never had access to the stage again but the code was mostly working (it seems the issues we had were actually issues with the hardware which was later sent for repair). If you can try the code and confirm it's working, then we could finally proceed with merging it to main.
